Pushpa Ji
How It All Began
“It started with something small. I simply wanted to make people feel welcome. I never imagined it would become something of my own.”

Pushpa Ji has been part of the Foundation for nearly a decade. She began with handwork, learning and contributing steadily, becoming a familiar and trusted presence within the space over the years.
It started with something small, as most meaningful things do. Pushpa Ji has always been someone who welcomes people with ease. One day, while guests were visiting the Foundation, she stepped in to make tea for them. What followed stayed with everyone who had it. Her chai was loved, spoken about, and slowly became something people began to look forward to. Over time, it found its place within the everyday rhythm of the Foundation. There is hardly a day that passes without her chai being shared.
A Journey That Continues to Grow
Recognising this, the Foundation supported her in setting up her own stall at the second edition of the PDKF's Artisan Collective. The response was immediate and generous, with visitors from across the country stopping by. Her chai was widely loved, and even received a shoutout from Prajakta Koli, bringing her work further visibility. Today, Pushpa Ji earns through this work and is able to support her two children, giving them access to a better education and opportunities she did not have. She has become an important face of the Foundation, and her chai remains one of its most loved and remembered experiences.
